Salary & Benefits

MoneyMercy Health System's Family Practice Residency Program offers a generous salary and benefits program to its residents with an increasing salary scale per year.

When added into the compensation equation, you as a resident benefit from such a program in many diverse and worthwhile ways.

Competitive Salary

Current stipend:
PG: laptop computer and $46,000
PG II: $47,000
PGIII: $48,000

Relocation

Residents are allowed relocation assistance up to $2,500.

Vacation

The first day of residency, each resident receives 15 paid vacation days per year and six paid holidays (unused time does not accrue from year to year).

Sick Time

On the first day of residency, each resident receives:

  • Six paid sick days (sick time may be used for illness, injury or need to obtain medical or dental treatment for the resident, spouse or children, and unused time does not accrue from year to year)
  • Six paid long-term sick days per year (may only be used by the resident for personal or family illness exceeding seven calendar days)

Licensure/Dues

All required licensing, certifications and AAFP dues are paid.

Meals

Meals are provided to all residents while on call in Mercy Hospital.

Maternity/Paternity Leave

A generous policy exists for new families.

Continuing Medical Education

A stipend of $500/1000/1000 per yr and five working days are available per year (days and stipends do not accrue from year to year).

Health and Dental Insurance

Basic and major medical insurance protection includes 100% of premiums paid for single and family coverage to be effective the first day of residency.

Liability Insurance

Residents receive malpractice insurance coverage for any services performed within the scope of the duties of the hospital or the program.

Employee Assistance Programs (EAP)

All residents have access to confidential assistance in personal, family and financial matters.

Life Insurance

Life insurance equals the amount of your annual earnings with an additional accidental death and dismemberment provision.

Long-Term Disability

Long-term disability insurance amounts to 60% of the resident's salary after 90 days of employment.

Tax-Deferred Savings Account

Residents may contribute to a 403b matched savings plan.

Parking

Parking is free in the Mercy Hospital physician lot and at the Family Medicine Center.

Moonlighting

Ample in-house opportunities are available and encouraged.
